Student Health Services (SHS) provides innovative, inclusive, high-quality healthcare to University of North Florida (UNF) students supporting their learning and discovery with a foundation of health, leading to lifelong well-being and success in rewarding careers.
Support Student Health Services
Aligned under the Brooks College of Health (BCH), SHS oversees three areas: Medical Compliance, the Student Health Clinic and Outreach and Educational Programs. SHS is solely funded through a student fee, which has not increased in 10 years. Due to high rates of inflations and costs, students are having to pay for more services out of pocket in order to maintain clinic services.
SHS plays an important role in the physical health and well-being of UNF students. SHS offers educational programs and collaborates with on- and off-campus entities to provide acute and urgent health services, prevent suicide, sexual assault, unintended pregnancies, and sexually transmitted infections (STIs), combat substance abuse, and promote good nutrition, sleep and exercise.
How Your Support Makes a Difference
Your donation will go toward updating clinic resources, such as exam tables, a lab chair, workstations on wheels, and other necessary technology and equipment to maximize the efficiency of Medical Compliance and the Health Clinic. Furthermore, it will support free STI testing and vaccines (such as influenza), free over-the-counter medications, thermometers, barrier protection, lubricant, sunscreen, lip balm, hand sanitizer and menstrual products and more for students throughout the year. It will also support educational programs and outreach efforts for faculty, staff, and students, and support efforts to recruit and retain high-caliber healthcare clinicians.
