Helping UNF Students Soar
UNF's Office of Academic and Student Affairs offers various programs providing additional assistance to UNF students who need it the most. Your gift of any size today to these projects support initiatives such as UNF Nesting Place, Care Services and enhancing Residence Life on campus.
The Nesting Place
The Nesting Place provides an extra level of support for students experiencing homelessness and students who have been in foster care. UNF works with the students to develop a plan for their success, provide and coordinate services, and assist them with obtaining tuition waivers and housing. Funds go toward hosting programs and events, as well as purchasing basic need items such as toiletries, snacks, cleaning supplies, school supplies, kitchen supplies, etc. for these students.
Care Services
Care Services enables members of the UNF community to express their concerns about students exhibiting unusual or concerning statements or behavior. Care Services provides a safety net when students need an extra level of support and resource connection in order to be a successful individual at UNF. The purpose of Care Services is to identify, intervene and mediate students experiencing distress. Care Services helps create a healthy and safe campus through Campus Assessment Response, Evaluation and Behavioral Intervention Teams. Addressing the growing and changing needs of students in a proactive, centralized, coordinated and developmental manner allows the student to focus on their health and academic success.
UNF Residence Life
The Department of Housing and Residence Life at the University of North Florida supports the University's educational mission by creating a positive living and learning community (LLC) with the best facilities, services, programs and customer service for our students. In addition, our responsive staff strives daily to enhance student academic and personal development by fostering a sense of self-respect for others and the community, emphasizing diversity and encouraging personal and civic responsibility while providing opportunities for leadership development. One of our hallmark initiatives is the living-learning communities, in which students can live with peers enrolled in the same major or interested in the same co-curricular experiences. Funds will support the costs of the living-learning community retreat and experiential activities to ensure all students can participate regardless of cost.
