The goal of the Center for Aging Research is to support evidence-based programs through research and education that positively affect the lives of older adults. In addition, we aim to partner with community-based agencies to provide learning opportunities for our students and be a resource to senior service agencies in Northeast Florida.
Center for Aging Research Mission
The UNF Center for Aging Research's mission is to facilitate and support interdisciplinary research that seeks to identify, evaluate and disseminate new knowledge related to health, equity and social services. This research is necessary to ensure the optimum quality of life for our growing older adult population.
Caring for the Elderly
There is no shortage of challenges in the healthcare field. At the UNF Center for Aging Research, we work with future healthcare leaders to promote education on aging issues at the undergraduate and graduate levels across the University. We also aim to contribute to workforce development for professionals serving the older adult population through our partnerships with the community.
More Than Just Traditional Research
The UNF Center for Aging Research conducts program evaluation and collaborative research studies that include, but are not limited to, the health and medical, psycho-social, economic and environment of older adults. In addition, we use our findings to help the development of public policy that impacts health and social care services.
