Two student groups in the Department of Public Health, The Talon Health and Service Alliance (THSA) and Eta Sigma Gamma (ESG) Honor Society, provide over 30 public health education and service events annually on drug prevention, mental health, human trafficking awareness, NICU support and care packaging for Wolfson Children's Hospital, protecting the environment, cancer prevention, animal welfare, and homelessness in Jacksonville.

THSA and ESG rely on student members for funding all health-related initiatives. This puts additional financial strain on our students. Through scholarships for student leaders and supplies for health-related initiatives, our students can continue to positively impact the Northeast Florida community with over 1,500 volunteer hours annually. These funds will directly help our students practice skills learned in their degree programs to promote health and improve lives in our community and become leaders in their field.
