Empower Their Journey: Elevating First-Year Success at UNF
Research unequivocally demonstrates that fostering meaningful connections during the crucial first year of college significantly increases the likelihood of graduation. Recognizing this pivotal period, UNF proudly introduced two new innovative programs tailored to support incoming freshmen: Osprey First Summer Pathways and Osprey Connections. These initiatives are purposefully constructed to provide new students with a robust academic foundation and a sense of belonging within our university community.
Osprey First Summer Pathways invites freshmen to participate in a specialized on-campus Summer program, offering essential foundational courses that fulfill General Education requirements. Of the initial class of Osprey First students, 95.3% have successfully completed their fall semesters and are enrolled in Spring 2024. Similarly, Osprey Connections immerses students in a comprehensive first-year experience, blending dynamic coursework with enriching co-curricular activities. Both programs prioritize peer mentorship, ensuring students forge connections and establish a supportive community from day one, and close interaction with UNF’s excellent faculty in their first year.
