UNF's Dean of Students Office provides students a safe place to land and holistic support for students' well-being through several important initiatives and programs, including The Nesting Place and Care Services. The Nesting Place
The Nesting Place provides an extra level of support for students experiencing resource insecurity, homelessness, or who have been part of the foster care system. UNF works with the students to develop a plan for their success, provide and coordinate services, and assist them with obtaining tuition waivers and housing. Funds go toward hosting programs and events and purchasing basic need items such as toiletries, snacks, cleaning supplies, school supplies, kitchen supplies and additional needs for these students.
Care Services
Care Services enables members of the UNF community to express their concerns about students exhibiting unusual or concerning statements or behavior. Care Services provides a safety net when students need an extra level of support and resource connection in order to be successful at UNF. The purpose of Care Services is to identify, intervene, and mediate students experiencing distress. Care Services helps create a healthy and safe campus through Campus Assessment Response, Evaluation, and Behavioral Intervention Teams. Addressing the growing and changing needs of students in a proactive, centralized, coordinated and developmental manner allows the student to focus on their health and academic success.
